My wife and I have taken to calling this "THE LOST WEEK...."
You have to say it in caps when you refer to it.
(It's only actually been three days.)
It started innocuously enough, when I spent Monday and Tuesday tearing siding off of my studio to fix a water leak river from the copious amounts of (beautiful-thank-you-I-love-it-and-this-is-not-sarcasm) rain we have gotten this summer.
It also started innocuously enough on Monday when my wife told me she was experiencing some pain in her left kidney area, but it didn't seem to be anything to worry about.
At 2:30am on Wednesday morning, we were worried. The pain had continually intensified throughout the week and was at an intolerable level (tear-inducing-fifteen-on-a-scale-of-ten-intolerable), so we went to the Emergency room.
Three medics, 10 needle prods (2 in her ass) a dose of pain meds, a CT scan and bloodwork later, we had no diagnosis other than "there is nothing wrong, it must be musculoskeletal here's some pain medication please fill out the survey when they send it please we called twice to check up on you so you say nice things on our survey how are you doing please fill out the survey please?
We got home from the Emergency Room around 5am, I ate some breakfast and went to work for 11 1/2 hours, worked out, came home and ate dinner with my wife and went to bed because I was stumbling and nearly falling over from exhaustion.
Her pain is much better, though it is still there and while the Chiropractor visit seemed to help today, we will see how it continues.
Oh, and I picked up contact dermatitis rolling around in the dirt and mulch on Monday and Tuesday.
